Implantable Contact Lens

Have you been told that you are not a candidate for LASIK eye surgery because your glasses prescription or corneal characteristics fall outside of the treatable parameters for laser vision correction? If so, an Implantable Contact Lens (ICL) may still be a solution that can work for you! ICL can provide vision correction without removing the natural lens inside of the eye or altering your outer corneal shape as intended by LASIK eye surgery.

An ICL improves your vision similar to a conventional contact lens but with the advantage that it can be surgically implanted in the eye via a simple in-office procedure. Once implanted, ICL cannot be felt or seen and requires no additional daily maintenance. After your customary follow-up visits at Cataract Vision Institute, you will simply continue with your routine annual eye exams at your eye doctor’s office.

Implantable contact lenses restore vision by adding prescription power to the eye, reducing the need for contacts or eyeglasses. With ICL, your own natural lens is not removed; instead, the implantable contact lens is simply placed in front of it.  This means that an ICL can be safely removed in the future, if needed.

If you’re looking for an alternative LASIK eye surgery to correct your vision, call Cataract Vision Institute today and schedule an evaluation.  CVI offers a variety of lens implant options that can correct your vision, even if you have been told that laser eye surgery is not right for you.
